Laser Scanning is used to collect the as-built data. Due to the speed of data collection, large amount of detailed information is acquired.
The data collected can be used to create accurate as-built drawings of the tanks, either as 2D drawings or 3D CAD Models. It can be used to carry out deformation analysis on the walls of the tanks using standard parametric techniques.
