Objective

Major Brownfield upgrade projects require significant design input to eliminate potential clashes with existing site plant.

NB Solution

Carry out a full as-built documentation of the brownfield site using laser scanning to generate a point cloud database of the full asset. Design work is then carried out using standard CAD / Piping design packages overlayed with the scan data. Clashes are eliminated in real time during the design process.

Critical tie-points are recorded using traditional survey methods of direct measurement to record flange location, deflection and bolt rotations as these are required to guarantee successful fit up.
